Baseball Recap: Winchester Comes Up Short

Belmont hit Winchester with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red & Black fell 12-8 to the Marauders. The Red & Black were not able to make up for their defeat to the Marauders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Brendan Bock was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Ronan O'Connell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Winchester has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Belmont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winchester will take on Wakefield Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Belmont, they will face off against Burlington at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
