Recap: Henryville Hornets vs. Providence Pioneers
The Henryville Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-40 defeat at the hands of Providence. While losing is never fun, Henryville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Providence is ranked 40th).
Henryville's loss came despite strong showings from Brody White and Gavin Cooper. White scored nine points, while Cooper scored six points.
Henryville has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Providence, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Henryville will head out on the road to take on Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. As for Providence, they will be playing at home against New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Albany has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 801 points over their last 11 contests.
