The Saugus Centurions will be taking part in a tournament against the Rio Mesa Spartans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Saugus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Rio Mesa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Alvarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Keira Barry, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Saugus' record is now 12-4. As for Rio Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Saugus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Rio Mesa struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
