Baseball Game Preview: Barlow Bruins vs. Foothill Knights

The Barlow Bruins are taking a road trip to face off against the Foothill Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Barlow has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Foothill will come in with three straight victories.

Barlow saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They came up short against Crean Lutheran, falling 15-6.

Meanwhile, Foothill owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Layton with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Knights have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Lauridsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Sean Green was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was AJ Nagler, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Foothill's record is now 11-3. As for Barlow, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
