Baseball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Marana Tigers

The Chandler Wolves will square off against the Marana Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither Chandler nor Marana posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Chandler had taken Mountain View down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Chandler fell 6-2 to Mountain View.

Chandler got a good showing from Luis Valenzuela, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Valenzuela gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had over his last four matchups.

At the plate, Chandler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Harrell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Marana also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Canyon del Oro by a score of 7-2. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Dorados: they've now lost seven in a row.

Marana's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Chandler, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8-1.

Chandler took their victory against Marana when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-1. Will Chandler repeat their success, or does Marana has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
