Baseball Recap: Eustace Comes Up Short

Eustace was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Athens Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Eustace's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Athens, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Coming up, Eustace will take on Fairfield at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fairfield's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Eustace's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Athens, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Athens Hornets duke it out with Kemp Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They are facing Kemp at the right time seeing as Kemp is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
