Soccer Game Preview: Rosemead vs. Mountain View

Rosemead hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Rosemead has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rosemead came up short against South El Monte on Thursday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Rosemead can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1024th, while South El Monte are ranked 489th).

Rosemead's goal came courtesy of Issac Martinez, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The game was the first time Mountain View have beaten El Monte on their pitch since December 15, 2021.

Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 14-2-3. As for Rosemead, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1.
