Basketball Recap: Edmonds-Woodway Comes Up Short

Edmonds-Woodway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Meadowdale Mavericks, falling 60-32. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Mavericks are ranked 48th).

Meadowdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lisa Sonko out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Audrey Lucas, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Edmonds-Woodway now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Meadowdale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Edmonds-Woodway has already played their next match, a 51-41 loss against Shorewood on the 4th. As for Meadowdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-51 victory against Shorecrest on the 4th.
