Basketball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westminster Academy Lions on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in Arkansas, while the Lions are ranked 101st in Florida).

It was another big night for Alex Constanza, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards for Westminster Academy. Constanza's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alexander Lloyd, who posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Westminster Academy, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Benton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-62 win against Waxahachie on the 30th. As for Westminster Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-57 victory against Pine Bluff on the 30th.
