Basketball Game Preview: South Side Rams vs. Laurel Spartans

The South Side Rams will challenge the Laurel Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

South Side is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 71 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Neshannock on Friday. They were dealt a 63-23 loss at the hands of the Lancers. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Laurel played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They walked away with a 46-37 victory over Rochester. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Laurel's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for South Side, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.

Everything came up roses for South Side against Laurel in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-31 victory. Does South Side have another victory up their sleeve, or will Laurel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
