Hoover had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They skirted past the Huntsville Panthers 5-3. This was payback for the Buccaneers, who suffered a 15-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hoover pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Huntsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will welcome Tupelo at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Tupelo has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Huntsville, they will host James Clemens at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. James Clemens will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Huntsville surely won't give up without a fight.
