Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Idalou Wildcats

Roosevelt hasn't had much luck against Idalou recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Roosevelt has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Roosevelt came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-3 to Shallowater.

Roosevelt saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Daniel, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The Eagles are 8-1 when Daniel posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-8-1 otherwise.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Idalou). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Muleshoe a 17-0 shutout on Saturday. The Wildcats have beaten the Mules the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mules has come to flipping the script.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Idalou, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10-1.
