Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lance Lavajo and Hayden Henningsen Lead Grant Community to Victory

Grant Community won the last time they faced Round Lake and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs walked away with a 2-0 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Grant Community not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Round Lake to exactly 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17.

Grant Community was led to victory by Hayden Henningsen and Lance Lavajo. Henningsen had five digs and two aces, while Lavajo had nine digs and three assists. What's more, Henningsen racked up seven assists, the most he's had over his last four games.

Grant Community's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Round Lake, they dropped their record down to 0-23 with the defeat, which was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season.

Grant Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Palatine on the 25th. As for Round Lake, they will challenge Grayslake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
