Softball Recap: Glenbard North Comes Up Short

If Glenbard North was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Batavia on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Charles East Fighting Saints on Monday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 3.81 runs allowed.

Lauren Kozlovsky and Gia Whelan did some serious damage despite the final result: Kozlovsky fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4, while Whelan fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tru Medina, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Glenbard North's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for St. Charles East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-12.

Glenbard North didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-3 win against Wheaton-Warrenville South on the 7th. As for St. Charles East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Wheaton North on the 7th.
