Flag Football Recap: Proviso East Comes Up Short

Proviso East lost against Willowbrook back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates were dealt a 51-6 loss at the hands of the Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Warriors are ranked fifth).

Proviso East's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Willowbrook, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Proviso East will square off against rival Downers Grove North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Willowbrook is set to take on their familiar foe Oak Park-River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 2.8, the Huskies 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
