Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Triad). They blew past the Marion Wildcats 18-2 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Triad pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Marion, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-8.

Triad and Marion should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Knights will challenge Belleville East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 66). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Triad 2.4, the Lancers 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Marion (ranked 63rd) will meet Centralia (ranked 204th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
