Preview: Kingsley Stags vs. Glen Lake Lakers
Kingsley is 1-9 against Glen Lake since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kingsley Stags will head out on the road to challenge the Glen Lake Lakers at 7:00 p.m. Kingsley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Kingsley came up short against Frankfort and fell 51-41. Kingsley has not had much luck with Frankfort recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Glen Lake entered their tilt with St. Francis with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Glen Lake walked away with a 55-42 win over St. Francis on Saturday. Given Glen Lake's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while St. Francis is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jacob Plamondon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 17 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Benji Allen, who scored 12 points.
Kingsley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Glen Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Kingsley came up short against Glen Lake in their previous matchup back in January, falling 52-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Glen Lake's Dylan Cundiff, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Kingsley knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
