Softball Recap: Tarboro Takes a Loss

Tarboro extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They lost 23-0 to the Martin County Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Thursday.

As for Martin County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Martin County's part, they got a massive performance out of Morgan Wolff, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Cowan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Tarboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martin County, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Perquimans at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th.
