Softball Recap: Deering Victorious

Deering took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Massabesic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over the Mustangs on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kamryn Moss was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Alexis Wilmot also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Deering always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Deering's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Massabesic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Deering will take on Cheverus at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Stags will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Massabesic, they will challenge Bonny Eagle at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Scots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
