Baseball Recap: Alice Find Success

Fans were treated to a battle of the Coyotes on Thursday. Alice skirted past La Joya 7-6.

Ale Asevedo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Asevedo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddex Carrillo, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Alice always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Alice's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for La Joya, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Alice will take on Goliad at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. As for La Joya, they will face off against Tuloso-Midway at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
