Softball Recap: South Central Makes It Six in a Row at Home

While South Central put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Concord. The Satellites came out on top in a nail-biter against the Minutemen, sneaking past 1-0. That's two games straight that the Satellites have won by just one run.

The result came thanks to Maddy Cleek's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, South Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marlee Cavinder, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Central pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. South Central will take on Boone Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Satellites' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Concord, they will venture away from home to challenge Wawasee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.81 runs per game on average), something the Minutemen will no doubt try to take advantage of.
