It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-54, which was the final score in Washburn/Bayfield's tilt against Bruce last Friday.
Mercer/Butternut had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against New Auburn on Friday as they made off with a 48-26 win.
Mercer/Butternut's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Washburn/Bayfield's loss dropped them down to 0-2. We'll find out if Mercer/Butternut can add another positive mark to their record or if Washburn/Bayfield can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Mercer/Butternut's step.
