Preview: Southeast Alamance Stallions vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles

The Southeast Alamance Stallions will head out on the road to face off against the Eastern Alamance Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Southeast Alamance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 26 to 16 on the offensive boards, a fact Southeast Alamance proved. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 70-43 victory over North Moore. The victory was just what Southeast Alamance needed coming off of a 74-35 defeat in their prior game.

Southeast Alamance's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerry Sims, who scored 16 points along with five steals. The contest was Sims' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Davian Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Meanwhile, Eastern Alamance pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Chapel Hill by a score of 65-63. Eastern Alamance has struggled against Chapel Hill recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jordan Matthews, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Adams, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.

Southeast Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Eastern Alamance, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's game: Southeast Alamance have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.4 threes per game. It's a different story for Eastern Alamance, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 threes per game. Given Southeast Alamance's sizeable advantage in that area, Eastern Alamance will need to find a way to close that gap.

Southeast Alamance came up short against Eastern Alamance in their previous meeting back in November, falling 77-72. Can Southeast Alamance avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
