Volleyball Recap: Grapevine Finds Playoff Glory Versus Burleson

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grapevine walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Burleson Elks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Grapevine not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Burleson between 20 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.

Leading Grapevine to victory were Prescott Carey and Lila Leigh. Carey had 17 digs and one assist, while Leigh had five aces. Those five aces gave Leigh a new career-high.

Grapevine's win bumped their record up to 25-19. As for Burleson, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-18.

Coming up, Grapevine will face off against Lubbock-Cooper at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burleson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
