Softball Game Preview: Regis Ramblers vs. Stanley-Boyd Orioles

Regis is 2-8 against Stanley-Boyd since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ramblers will host the Orioles at 4:00 p.m. Regis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Regis came up short against Bloomer and fell 7-3.

Regis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Borton, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Maddy Payne also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Stanley-Boyd hadn't done well against Thorp recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Orioles had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Orioles have posted against the Cardinals since May 9, 2023.

Caitlen Ketterhagen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks.

Stanley-Boyd's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Regis, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Regis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stanley-Boyd struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
