Baseball Recap: Rocky Ford Takes a Loss

Rocky Ford extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-11. They came up short against the Fowler Grizzlies, falling 20-1. The Meloneers were not able to make up for their loss to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Shayne Gonzales made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Fowler, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games.

On Fowler's side, Daxton Books made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Books was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fowler beat Rocky Ford by a score of 18-1 later that day.
