Football Game Preview: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. Castro Valley Trojans + Official Tickets

The Berkeley Yellowjackets will head out to face off against the Castro Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley has given up an average of 38.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Berkeley came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 55-12 defeat at the hands of Bishop O'Dowd. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-6.

Although Berkeley took the loss, they still got scores from CHRISTOPHER DEVITO and ELLIOT GERBELOT.

Meanwhile, Castro Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-22 heartbreaker at the hands of Moreau Catholic. While the Trojans had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Mariners 7-0.

Castro Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Berkeley, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Berkeley against Castro Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 34-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
