Basketball Recap: Bellmont Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bellmont can now relate to. They lost to the Marion Giants on the road by a 75-56 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Giants are ranked 89th).

Bellmont has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's still a better percentage than their 5-18 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. Marion now has a winning record of 12-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marion beat Bellmont by a score of 75-56 on Tuesday.
