Soccer Game Preview: Colorado Academy vs. Columbine

The Colorado Academy Mustangs will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Columbine Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Colorado Academy was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They never let Mullen get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Colorado Academy wouldn't have won without Lyla Kocher, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Columbine won against Highlands Ranch on Thursday with one goal and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Monday. Columbine narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Dakota Ridge 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Columbine now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Colorado Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Colorado Academy beat Columbine by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 3-2. Will Colorado Academy repeat their success, or does Columbine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
