Baseball Game Preview: Brunswick Dragons vs. Morse Shipbuilders

The Brunswick Dragons will take on the Morse Shipbuilders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brunswick's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Morse's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Brunswick came up short against Skowhegan and fell 6-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the River Hawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Allan Swain was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Morse hadn't done well against Medomak Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Shipbuilders skirted past the Panthers 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Shipbuilders.

Morse's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
