Softball Game Preview: Onalaska Loggers vs. Toutle Lake Ducks

The Onalaska Loggers will face off against the Toutle Lake Ducks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Saturday, Onalaska got the win against Mossyrock by a conclusive 14-2. The Loggers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Toutle Lake had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Winlock 29-1.

Audrey Kilponen made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Kilponen was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two RBI and one double. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Toutle Lake got a massive performance out of Jamie Veach, who went 3-for-5 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Karly Opsahl, who scored three runs while going 5-for-5.

Onalaska took their win against Toutle Lake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-8. Does Onalaska have another victory up their sleeve, or will Toutle Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
