Softball Game Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. West Bladen Knights

Red Springs hasn't had much luck against West Bladen recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will head out to challenge the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Red Springs has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Red Springs is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against St. Pauls, falling 16-1.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Thursday West Bladen sidestepped Fairmont for a 9-8 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Marlene Crabtree spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Brenna Hester was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Holland Davis, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

West Bladen now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Red Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.

Red Springs suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to West Bladen in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
