Softball Recap: Aletheia Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Aletheia Christian Academy extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-7 in the process. They lost 20-5 to the Booker T. Washington Wildcats. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 14-5.

Aletheia Christian Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah McMorris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Booker T. Washington, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-17. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Booker T. Washington's side, Jaydence Bennett made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Bennett was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Skylar Brown was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lana Van Wyck, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Aletheia Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on the 17th. As for Booker T. Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-0 loss against Milton on the 17th.
