Volleyball Game Preview: Andrew Thunderbolts vs. Willowbrook Warriors

Andrew is a perfect 3-0 against Willowbrook since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts will venture away from home to take on the Warriors at 5:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Andrew didn't have quite enough to beat Homewood-Flossmoor and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Andrew sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 24-26, 25-22.

Aidan Aguayo put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 20 assists and three digs.

Meanwhile, Willowbrook can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Addison Trail 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 11th.

Willowbrook got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 32-30, 25-17.

Andrew has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season. As for Willowbrook, their win bumped their record up to 4-22.

Andrew came out on top in a nail-biter against Willowbrook in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbolts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
