Soccer Game Preview: Bloomington vs. Normal University

Bloomington hasn't had much luck against Normal University recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Purple Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. Bloomington has given up an average of 6.2 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bloomington is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to Centennial. That's two games in a row now that Bloomington have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, Normal University had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They never let the Railsplitters get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Considering Normal University have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Normal University, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3-1.

Bloomington suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Normal University when the teams last played back in April. Can the Purple Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
