Hillcrest Christian was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Franklin Academy on Friday. The Hillcrest Christian Cougars breezed by the Franklin Academy Cougars to the tune of 60-19. Hillcrest Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Hillcrest Christian to victory were AJ Thompson and Jaivyn Carter. Thompson posted 11 points and six steals, while Carter scored 12 points. Those six steals gave Thompson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of DeAngelo Nicholson, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

Hillcrest Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests.

Hillcrest Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Franklin Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Hillcrest Christian will host River Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River Oaks will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something Hillcrest Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Franklin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
