The Downers Grove North Trojans will take on the Lyons Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Downers Grove North will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Saturday, Downers Grove North made easy work of Addison Trail and carried off a 12-1 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Colin Houlihan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Luke Fordonski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Santos, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Downers Grove North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lyons didn't have quite enough to beat Willowbrook on Saturday and fell 4-2.
Lyons also got a good showing from Luka Luburic, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Luburic hasn't allowed a single earned run over his last four games.
At the plate, Lyons saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Clarke, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Clarke's first of the season.
Downers Grove North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lyons, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Downers Grove North has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Lyons struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
