Football Game Preview: Lutheran Mustangs vs. The Christian School at Castle Hills Eagles

The Lutheran Mustangs will take on The Christian School at Castle Hills Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so The Christian School at Castle Hills' offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Lutheran was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 32-26 to Annapolis Christian Academy. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Christian School at Castle Hills). They blew past San Marcos Academy, posting a 58-12 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Lutheran better keep an eye on Roman Stemmerding. He was instrumental in The Christian School at Castle Hills' win, rushing for 177 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Stemmerding's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ralston Burns was another key player, rushing for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lutheran fell to 5-1. As for The Christian School at Castle Hills, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Lutheran was taken down by The Christian School at Castle Hills 46-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Josiah Wentrcek (who rushed for 68 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 44 receiving yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time.
