Softball Recap: Half Moon Bay Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Half Moon Bay had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Santa Cruz Cardinals with a sharp 8-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Zoey Schwartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Miranda Sarabia was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey Gunning, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Half Moon Bay now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Santa Cruz, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
