Soccer Game Preview: Solon vs. Vinton-Shellsburg

The Solon Spartans will square off against the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Solon is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Independence on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Vinton-Shellsburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. That seven-goal margin sets a new team best for Vinton-Shellsburg this season.

Solon's draw makes their record 3-1-1 this season. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-1.
