Softball Recap: Grosse Ile Starts Season with Victory at Home

Grosse Ile gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Dearborn Pioneers 10-8. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Grosse Ile's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Charlie McCarthy, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Grosse Ile will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Melvindale at 10:00 a.m. on April 5th. Dearborn will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Glenn at 4:00 p.m. on April 2nd. This will be Glenn's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
