Baseball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies vs. Lexington Minutemen

Johnstown-Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lexington Minutemen. The Johnnies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Minutemen from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Landon Myers and Erik Marohl stepped up to the plate in a big way. Myers went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Marohl got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Johnstown-Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lexington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnstown-Monroe will challenge Newark Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Wave's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Johnnies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lexington, they are taking a road trip to face off against Perkins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
