Volleyball Recap: Foundation Academy Beats Lake Minneola for Their Fifth Straight Win

Foundation Academy came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Lake Minneola Hawks as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Lions were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Hawks, so the Lions were just returning the favor.

While Foundation Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lake Minneola scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 25-23.

Haley Higgins paced Foundation Academy's offense, picking up 24 kills. Higgins got some help from Geiliany Del Valle and her 36 assists. Finally, Higgins was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Foundation Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Lake Minneola, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Foundation Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Lake Howell on the 16th. As for Lake Minneola, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Tavares on the 16th.
