It was a good run, but St. Charles North unfortunately witnessed the end of their 17-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Benet Academy Redwings by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redwings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Charles North sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 25-21.

Sidney Wright paced St. Charles North's offense, picking up 12 kills. Wright got some help from Mia McCall and her 25 assists. Wright also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Amber Czerniak, each putting up two.

St. Charles North's loss dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Benet Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-2.

St. Charles North and Benet Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The North Stars (ranked fifth) will meet Wheaton-Warrenville South (ranked 123rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Benet Academy will face off against Marian Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (3 vs. 198).
