Football Recap: Carey's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After flying high against Clarke last Saturday, Carey came back down to earth. The Seahawks took a hard 41-23 fall against the Wantagh Warriors on Saturday. The Seahawks haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Luke Martini and Joe Nicholson. Martini gained 183 total yards and two touchdowns while Nicholson gained 210 total yards and two touchdowns. Nicholson's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Paccione, who picked up 53 receiving yards and two scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carey fell to 6-1. As for Wantagh, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Carey will take on Bethpage on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Seahawks 11.4, the Golden Eagles 10) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Wantagh, they will square off against Floral Park Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
