Soccer Game Preview: Midland Trail vs. Nicholas County

The Midland Trail Patriots will challenge the Nicholas County Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Trail's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Monday, Midland Trail came up short against James Monroe and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Nicholas County faced Oak Hill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Grizzlies lost 5-0 to the Red Devils. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, Nicholas County's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Midland Trail's loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Nicholas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2-1.

Midland Trail might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Nicholas County in their previous meeting on September 2nd. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Patriots were down 4-1.
