Recap: Benson Bobcats vs. Willcox Cowboys

After flying high against The Gregory School Hawks last Thursday, the Benson Bobcats came back down to earth. Benson fell 59-46 to Willcox on Monday. Despite the loss, Benson still got an impressive performance from Kaylei Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Adalie Lewis, who scored seven points along with five assists and five steals.

Benson has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for Willcox, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benson will take on Pima at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pima presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Benson in Arizona (Pima is ranked 24th, while Benson is ranked 105th). As for Willcox, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Rita at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Rita is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
