Basketball Game Preview: Rossville Hornets vs. Seeger Patriots

The Rossville Hornets will face off against the Seeger Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Rossville lost to Clinton Central at home by a 59-43 margin. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Ava Burkle put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. She is becoming a predictor of Rossville's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 8-1 (and 5-6 when she doesn't). Caydence Robey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Seeger played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-30 to Tri-County. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 86th).

Rossville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Seeger, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Rossville came up short against Seeger in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 53-41. Thankfully for Rossville, Aubry Cole (who went 6 of 15 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
