Basketball Recap: Palm Beach Central Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Palm Beach Central lost against Palm Beach Gardens back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Palm Beach Central Broncos took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palm Beach Gardens Gators. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Gators are ranked 77th).

When it comes to explaining why Palm Beach Central lost, don't look at Izabelle Vilmont. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 14 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. Vilmont is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Triniti Crouse, who posted 13 points.

Palm Beach Gardens' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandi Brown, who went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points along with six assists and five steals. That's the most steals Brown has posted since back in January of 2024. Jaliyah Magwood was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Palm Beach Central's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for Palm Beach Gardens, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
