Basketball Recap: Newton Falls Takes a Loss

Newton Falls lost against Crestview back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newton Falls Tigers were beaten by the Crestview Rebels 50-11. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Addison Rhodes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crestview, going 8 for 19 on her way to 21 points in addition to six assists and six steals. The contest was Rhodes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luvrain Gaskins, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Newton Falls dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crestview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Newton Falls Tigers take on the Bristol Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Crestview and Washington will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Washington will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Crestview surely won't give up without a fight.
